Actor and Screenwriter John Ramaine Named as Director of Creative Entertainment for StarMentors, Inc
New York, NY – November 7, 2019 – Jay Jaworski, the CEO of StarMentors, Inc. is pleased to announce that seasoned actor and screenwriter John Ramaine has been named Director of Creative Entertainment Development.
John Ramaine pursed his theatrical career after a brief stint in the U.S. Air Force. Arriving in New York City, he studied at various institutions; The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Bill Alderson’s Meisner Technique training class and Ann Jackson’s scene study class at HB Studios. John also trained as a Filmmaker/Screenwriter at NYU TISCH in 1995 and also taught ‘The Introduction to Screenwriting” at the FELT Theater School in 2012.

John has performed with the National Tour of Man of La Mancha, along with regional tours of A Christmas Carol and In the Shadow of the Glen. In 2012, John starred in the Off-Broadway production of Spring Awakenings produced by Marvel Repertory and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Playhouse on Park in West Hartford CT. He also performed for The Frog and Peach Main Stage Company 2017 Season production of MacBeth in the role of Banquo. The Curse of Booth, written and performed by John was first presented as a workshop production at Eventbrite NYU TISCH in 2013 and in New York’s famed The Player’s Club in 2015. John has performed numerous television roles for the History, Discover and Arts/Entertainment and the ABC networks. He has received a Best Actor Nomination at the Domani Vision Film Festival for his role as the gunslinger in Contrition in 2011. Co-starred with Mike Burbiglia in the feature film Stanley Cuba.
John has also worked with Eric Roberts and Tony LoBianco in 79 Parts, which John also co-wrote the screenplay (IMDb). John played the lead role in the feature film civil war drama, Only Fear of Death to be released in 2020. Short films either written, produced, directed or staring John include, Day in the Life, In the Field, Psycho Babble, Discarded (a co-direction), Turnpike and I Am Julia, all of which won various awards from numerous film festivals such as the International New York Film Festival, Houston Television and Film Festival, the South Carolina Film and Television Festival and the Chautauqua International Film Festival. John also wrote a novel titled, A Long Time Ago, on the perils of Hollywood available on Amazon books.
John’s Screenplays in development include, The Fake, The Curse of Booth (based on his play), Undertow, The Perfect Nothing and Ancient of Days.
